To schedule a session or ask any questions about the process, please call 832.704.3545 or click the button at the bottom of this page. We’ll work with you to understand your training goals, race schedule, and current swim experience so we can tailor a program that meets your needs.
Whether you're preparing for your first Sprint Triathlon or aiming for a personal best in an Ironman, personalized swim training can give you a competitive edge and greater confidence in the water.
Course Overview:
Triathlon training students are assessed during the first few minutes of the first session, and then technique is refined accordingly. Our Triathlon Training is designed for athletes at any level who are looking to improve their swimming performance and technique in preparation for a triathlon. We train beginners, seasoned competitors, and everyone in between. Each session is one-on-one and fully customized to your abilities, race goals, and comfort level in the water.
Unlike traditional group swim classes, these sessions are focused entirely on you. You'll receive individual attention, real-time feedback, and expert coaching to help you overcome your challenges and maximize your efficiency in the water.
Class Structure:
Your first triathlon training session begins with a brief in-water assessment to evaluate your current technique, breathing pattern, and overall swim efficiency. From there, we focus on customized drills and coaching in areas such as:
• Stroke mechanics (freestyle/front crawl technique)
• Breathing rhythm and bilateral breathing
• Body positioning and streamlining
• Pacing strategies and stroke rate control
• Endurance-building workouts
• Open water readiness, including sighting, navigation, and group swim simulation
• Race-day strategies, including starts, turns, and transitions
We also address common swim-related challenges faced by triathletes, such as anxiety in open water, fatigue during the swim leg, or lack of consistent stroke rhythm. Our sessions are intentionally flexible so we can adapt to your needs in real time.
Each lesson is approximately one hour long and progresses based on your comfort, improvement, and goals.
Who Can Benefit:
Whether you’re just getting started or you're a seasoned racer aiming to qualify for a championship, our triathlon training can help elevate your swim performance.
Ideal for:
• New triathletes preparing for their first Sprint or Olympic-distance race
• Intermediate athletes aiming to improve swim splits
• Ironman and Half Ironman participants preparing for long-distance endurance swims
• Athletes returning to the sport after time away
• Swimmers who feel anxious, inefficient, or fatigued in the water
• Anyone looking to improve open water swim confidence and technique
We’ve trained athletes from a variety of backgrounds—from those who just learned to swim as adults to those with previous competitive swim experience. Regardless of your starting point, we’ll meet you where you are.
The Benefits of Individual Swim Coaching
Working one-on-one with a coach offers many advantages over group swim classes or training alone. With individual coaching, you’ll receive:
• Immediate, personalized feedback
• A structured training plan tailored to your race distance and timeline
• Techniques to improve endurance while reducing energy waste
• Guidance on how to manage nerves and stay calm during open water starts
• Accountability and encouragement to stay on track with your goals
Every triathlete faces unique challenges in the water. Whether it's your breathing, form, speed, or confidence, we’ll help you break through barriers and unlock your full potential.
Prerequisites:
To participate in our triathlon training program, you must:
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be in good general health
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire prior to your first session (required for insurance)
If you have a medical condition or injury, please let us know so we can tailor the sessions accordingly and prioritize your safety.
What To Bring:
Please bring the following items to each triathlon training session:
• Comfortable swimwear
• Swim cap
• Goggles
• Towel
• Water bottle (recommended for hydration)
• A change of clothes
If you’re preparing for an open water race and own a wetsuit, we may incorporate it into your training during specific sessions. Don’t worry if you’re unsure what equipment is best—we’re happy to make recommendations based on your race environment and experience level.
