HUET

Class Dates:

By appointment only.

Class Description:

This class is offered to provide individuals who are required to travel by helicopter with detailed instruction and competence of the water. The swimming training provided will allow individuals to feel confident when they are required to be aware of vital evacuation procedures, in the event that immediate action is required to escape a capsized or ditched helicopter over water.

Class Structure:

Our students are familiarized and taught how to swim in order to be competent swimmers to pass the Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) from a theoretical approach which is then augmented by demonstration and pupil involvement.

Prerequisites:

All students must be 18 years or older at the time of enrollment and in good health.

Who Can Benefit:

The majority of the individuals who take this class work on offshore drilling platforms and are required to take a HUET class by their company. The requirement of taking an HUET class has risen over the years as oil & gas companies have been forced to emphasize employee safety in the wake of several high-profile accidents in their industry.
